MOST150 Rolls Off the Line
MOST® Forum 2012: MOST Cooperation Releases MOST150 Onto the Road
Karlsruhe (Germany) February 9, 2012 - At the fourth MOST Forum on March 20, 2012 in Stuttgart/Esslingen (Germany), the MOST Cooperation (MOSTCO) - the standardization organization for the leading automotive multimedia network Media Oriented Systems Transport (MOST) - will again participate as knowledge partner and exhibitor to showcase the latest technology highlights. "The theme of this year's exhibit is 'MOST150 Rolls Off the Line', describing the third generation of MOST Technology hitting the road in 2012," stated Dr. Christian Thiel, Administrator of the MOST Cooperation. "MOST150 meets the requirements not only for the traditional areas of entertainment and information, but also for the new domains of mobile connectivity, connected services, and driver assistance. We are proud to announce that automotive Ethernet will go into series via MOST150." In addition to transporting high Quality of Service (QoS) audio and video, this latest technology also provides an automotive-ready physical layer for Ethernet protocols within the car. MOST is thus equivalent to an IEEE802.x network.
MOST in Driver Assistance
Besides exhibiting, MOSTCO's Technical Coordinator Dr. Wolfgang Bott will speak on "MOST in Driver Assistance". In his presentation at 14:30 on March 20, 2012, Dr. Bott will give evidence supporting the need for seamless integration of infotainment and driver assistance. Both hard real-time and high bandwidth requirements must be met. A multi-channel network approach with inherent synchronicity will be the first choice. If then additional advantages such as maturity, cost efficiency and flexible topology come along with an appropriate safety integrity level, MOST is proven to fit best from a system solution perspective.
MOSTCO will participate at the MOST Forum 2012 on March 20 as exhibitor and knowledge partner.

About MOST Technology
MOST (Media Oriented Systems Transport) is a multimedia networking technology optimized for use in cars and other applications. It enables the transport of high Quality of Service audio and video together with packet data and real-time control over a single transmission medium. MOST can use plastic optical fibers (POF), coax based electrical physical layer, and shielded and unshielded twisted pair (STP/UTP) copper wires, that meet automotive environmental requirements. Today, MOST is used in over 115 car models as the communication backbone for their information and entertainment equipment.
About MOST Cooperation
The MOST Cooperation is the organization through which MOST Technology is standardized and refined so that it continues to stay abreast of the latest industry requirements. Today, it consists of 16 international carmakers and more than 60 key component suppliers. They have joined together to work with the MOST Technology and to contribute to its innovation. The MOST Cooperation is prepared to embrace efforts to further develop and standardize the technology for other industries and to establish the corresponding work structures. The MOST Cooperation was founded in 1998 to standardize MOST Technology as a global standard for multimedia networking. Audi, BMW, Daimler, HARMAN and SMSC are its core partners and constitute its Steering Committee. For more information see www.mostcooperation.com.
